About River Bend

Our search for a perfect farm landed us here. River Bend is 100+ year old 10+ acre Preserved Farm in Farmingdale, New Jersey. With our open door policy we get lots of visitors!

Besides our cozy house, we have several outer buildings. There’s a great history here too. During the war there were army barracks which subsequently were turned into chicken coops by previous owners who were holocaust survivors. After it was sold, the next owners used the farm as an organic vegetable farm. We are the latest owners and we are breeding Sheep and Horses.

When we moved in, it needed a lot of TLC to get it to where it is today. Renovating the outdoors began right away and is an ongoing labor of love.

It didn’t take long before our woolly, furry, winged friends started arriving. The flock is growing quickly, focusing on the Gotland breed of sheep as well as the shetland breed. Always, continuing to stay within the Gotland and Shetland sheep breed standards. We also have 3 horses, rabbits, birds, cats, and dogs. Together with our three daughters, and granddaughters, we have plenty of fun!

River Bend Shetland Sheep FarmWe love raising these two breeds They are friendly, curious and very hardy, we adore all of them with their individual personalities.

We are committed to selling high quality Shetland sheep. Shetland sheep should have great conformation, tails, and soft crimpy fleece. Our Shetlands are registered with NASSA registry.

We are also breeding GOTLANDS and will be selling them for their outstanding fine prized wool. The Gotlands we sell, are registered with the AGSS.

We are the largest Gotland Breeder on the east coast.
